Hey I heard Pimentel Studios...who somehow is in charge of all photography for CUSD...didn't have CHS' yearbooks out in time...I'm not even sure if they have them yet. I also heard that this isn't the first time CUSD has problems with Pimentel. The funny thing is that board member Rivera is often seen having lunch with this guy...mmm I wonder how he got this contract?? |

| That sucks for graduating seniors who would've like to get their yearbooks signed by other students before they headed off to IVC. |

Exactly the way you're thinking. It's Calecia, remember?
So yeah, the books were late. I was looking at one yesterday. Even with all the drama the yearbook class went through, I think they did an awesome yearbook. Over 300 pages, most of them in color, high quality photos, variety and unique pages. I wish 2002's yearbook was half as good as this one. Big shout out to Mr. Montes and his students for their hard work. |

| I know many people that had already left to boot camp by the time the yearbooks were given out on Monday, and by the time the come back how many people will be gone to school, even though you say this is Calecia there are a tons of people that don't come back to this shit hole. I bet you are related to Pimentel, who by the way looks like the fat guys that came out in the Andy Milonakis' show. When I was in school the best part of buying the year book was getting it signed by my friends, what Pimentel should of done was sponsor a yearbook signing party for the class of 08, that's the least he could do, he has the money, hey he probably has the 2.6 million the district lost. |

| Pimentel Studios was also late in delivering kinder graduation pictures to all the elementary schools. Let me clear that, they didn't even delivered. The parents had to go and personally pick up their child's pictures at Pimentel's Studios. Donde quedo el profesionalismo! |

| this guy doesn't care about professionalism because he knows that there's nothing people can do about it. the truth is that he has one or some of the board members in his payroll so calexico students and parents are stuck with him no matter what. |

Sounds like another photographer/printer needs to be contracted or at least put up the contract for bid.
It's a tradition to get your yearbook before the end of the year and getting it signed. Even if you're anti-social, it don't matter. Especially now that the "weird" kids are the majority at school these days.
How does Pimentel get the job year after year anyway? Sounds like that's a "tradition" too. |

Apparently today there's a scheduled yearbook signing event going on at CHS. Paid for with fund raising funds. |

This is just a sad story. Yearbooks are so damn expensive and for Pimentel Studios to deliver them late is inexcusable & unprofessional.
Fund raising funds? I hope this money wasn't ASB money that was raised by students. The District Office should have used their funds since they keep awarding the contract to Pimentel Studios. I know in years past I have questioned the contract and suggested a different studio to be used, only to hear this response, "no, no, no......no." It's such a done deal with the District implying they know best.
Well, the District has gotten this one wrong. The following are responsible*:
Eduardo Rivera (term ends Nov 2008)
Enrique Alvarado (term ends Nov 2008)
Michael Castillo
Richard Cordero
Salvador Pacheco
*Not endorsing any candidate, just holding those accountable. |
