Bike routes in Calexico and out in the country

Are there any interesting bike routes in or around Calexico?

I'm thinking about getting myself another bike after being bikeless for the past 6 months. Now I'm looking at a mountain bike or similar ride that I can maybe cruise on out in the country with or even around Calexico.

The Green Pipes used to be great for going out to ride your bike. Lots of obstacles and paths to keep you entertained for hours, not to mention the danger element, but I don't even know if they still exist in their original form. We still have tons of fields and canals though, so that may be worth the ride. The problem is that this is all flat land compared to TGP. Maybe we need to start The Green Pipes Restoration Project.

I guess I'll open up Google Earth and do a little exploring, but if anyone knows of any bike routes that are interesting (which do not require having to drive your car to), please do share with the group.
