As most of you (should) know, same-sex marriage will be legally allowed in California on June 16, 2008 (Monday). This most likely means that gay couples in Imperial County will be lining up on Monday to get married and/or submit their appointments for gay marriage.

Yes, men will be marrying other men and women will be marrying other women in the valley.

Is the Imperial Valley ready for this? Well, they better be 'cause it's gonna happen. And there's nothing stopping gays and lesbians now, that is unless the anti-gay marriage folk head on over to the county building to setup a blockade in protest of same-sex marriage.

If people protested the movie Dogma here, then expect to have the same try to prevent gay couples from saying their vows.

Is the world coming to end? Is that the rapture I see off in the horizon?

I could give two shits about this. If anything, they sould let all those fuckin' fags get married already. Better that, than having all these good looking, chick flick loving, fashion knowing males "turning straight". If we have that, regular guys like us are pretty much fucked.

So yeah, let these dudes out of the closet, let them marry, and let them have all the gay sex their anxious cornholes desire in the privacy of their own bedroom and finally give guys like us a chance at approaching chicks.

... OK. Is there a category in the Calecia.com annual awards for "Most Off the Wall Rant"? Cuz there should be.

As far as people blockading the County Registrar, anytime one group of people tries to control another group of people, it is always a terrible thing.

My bad, gay marriage is not at all legal until Tuesday, since the decision won't officially take place until 5 PM today and the county closes its doors at that time.

Sorry spic-ole if you drove up to EC only to find the information on C.com wasn't specific enough.

Excuse my crudeness. While I do feel that way (I'm in no way taking back what I posted above), alcohol an my computer keyboard sometimes don't mix well. I may have suggested this in the past, but maybe there should be some type of "drunken post" thread.

But as far as the topic goes, really, why would people waste their time with picketing the County Registrar? It's hot as fuck out there and homosexuality runs rampant everywhere, including the conservative farmland that is the Imperial Valley.

When people learn to finally accept the reality of their sorroundings, we'll be at least a million times closer to living in a perfect world.

They could be in hell and the same people who are against gay marriage will be out there protesting. Plus there's more of a chance the protesters could "win" since there are definitely more zealots where the sun spends the winter than there are gaybors who would be willing to take the plunge.

This has the potential to be something big, so I might cruise on by during lunch time.

According to IVP Quick News, two gay couples obtained marriage licenses today. One of them is having the ceremony this weekend...

I was invited to a party this weekend...

Can people from Mexicali come across the border to get married at the county?

I would think that the major issue in this case is a persons right to pursue happiness. If two people are able to find that in today's world, shouldn't we be OK with that? What would you rather have for neighbors: a married heterosexual couple that are constantly fighting and the cops are there all the time or a gay couple that live peacefully and mind their own business?

This isn't even an issue about homosexuality. This is about two people that want to solidify a committment to one another and enjoy the benefits of that committment. It would allow them to make legal decisions for their spouse in the event of an emergency. It would allow them to rightfully collect survivor benefits if tragedy strikes.

This is a legal issue, not a moral issue. Those of us that are straight will not be effected by this at all.

In the immortal words of St Rodney: "Can't we all just get along?"
