There have been plenty of protests in the US. Watch CNN.
What's really funny is how the US is so eager to go to war with weak countries such as Iraq, but scared shitless of tougher countries such as Korea. |
It's called reading posts Monkey. Read them, don't plagarize!
P.S. Don’t turn this thread into another trite gun-referencing comeback pile of shit. Let’s get back to discussing this war. (Trite: typical, unimaginative). |
wow!!! how long did it take you to search Webster's Dictionary for that definition? we should all bow down before you and make this the word of the day.
whenever the word trite is read boys and girls, scream really loud.
seriously though, war is not a funny issue. it shouldn't be taken lightly. sure bono may have been shot or something in NORTH KOREA. let's clear that up. but the guy is irish. let them take care of it.
it doesn't matter who the enemy is. be it saddam or those damn bucket heads. they need to be dealt with no matter what. it shouldn't matter who the weaker country is. remember, sometimes the weaker country is the most dangerous. remember afgahnistan. nobody ever thought those fuckers would attack us because we are stronger than they, but they did, and when we least expected it. take all sides seriously, or we could get royally fucked. |

Sure the United States is powerful, but that means nothing when it's 1 against 190. |

What's this "we" shit?
Here's how you fight this inevitable war with Iraq. You grab every American (and Brit, for that matter) who feels personally threatened by Iraq (real or imagined), supply them with assault weapons and artillery, and ship them off to fight the war themselves. Let's see how rah-rah they'll be after a few days in combat.
bemisnorris is right. If we're going to get all riled up over an unstable sovereign nation having nuclear weapons, then North Korea is the one to keep an eye on, not Iraq.
The US is going after Iraq out of spite. Period. And don't get all 9/11 on me, 'cause I've got another date for you: August 6, 1945. |

By we I meant myself and mouse in my pocket.
But seriously, revramrod has a point about people being quick to deploy our troops while they remain safe at home. But the fact is that going into combat is always a possibility for a soldier and they are prepared for this. If people join the armed forces without accepting that possiblilty they are joining for the wrong reasons.
Also, there is no doubt in my mind that we are going after Saddam out of spite but between letting him be exiled or killing him I say we kill him. If he is exiled he will probably go to Sweden and live like a king. The CIA will eventually covertly assasinate him though. I think the U.S. should try and talk to Korea before we end up having to go to war with them. |

Another thing about this possible war is that we are all 12 years older or so since Desert storm and out of high school and this time we actuall know some people being shipped off. This makes it alot more reall I know a couple people who are already over there and that brings this issue alot closer to home.
I read some where, that some democrats are trying to start a draft. But they want it to include everyone 18-26, with graduate school or college being an excuse to not get drafted. The point of this is to make even "the senator's son" able to get drafted this way all this politicos won't be so eager to ship off these troops. |

| Did you guys watch the state of the union address. This retard wants to start shit with Iran as well. He used the ol' "these people deserve to know democracy" excuse. I agree with destroying nukes and chemies, but it should be done globaly. Yeah, neutralize the immediate threats, but don't go meddle with Iran, it reeks of oil interest. |

As unromantic as it may be, very few soldiers actually enlist out of a sense of patriotism. Most enlist for the college money and/or benefits for them and their families.

Why should the US kill Saddam, yet talk to Korea? |

Very true, but they must have weighed at some point or another the possibility that they me shipped off to war- at least on some level. If the current members of the U.S. armed forces can't even imagine the possibility of war and are only in it for the money, travel, and 5 dollar filipino hookers then that is a totally different problem.

Kill Saddam to get this fuckin' thing over with. Talk to Korea cause they are some tough ass mofo's.

Exactly! The U.S. should not be getting involved in nation building. It seems that is the real great American past time. Get in, Get the fuck out and get on with it. |

exactly, nukes need to be gotten rid of everywhere, that includes iran, iraq, india, korea...etc. you need to start somewhere. you can't just say it's oil interest because it boils down to something greater than oil. MONEY that's right. you could get money without oil. it's called start a war. every single time the economy has gone down, we have had some kind of war or fight or whatever you wanna call it. the problem is that after the economic boom from war, comes recession. it happens every time as well. what should we do. fuck it! let's just hope things don't get to fucked up. |
