The Democrats just lost the presidency to the Republicans again.

Why?

Because the citizens of the United States of America will not elect a black man to be our president.

That's the truth and you know it. No matter how charismatic Obama may be, he will not beat out McCain in the 2008 election. The American people in general will freak out at the voting booth and go the other way when it really comes down to it.

Racism is alive in the US and until there is not one single race here, it'll continue to exist.

Congratulations president-elect John McCain.

I know I'll vote for Obama. And while I totally agree with what you're saying about race, I'd also like to believe that enough people are smart enough and disenfranchised enough with the last eight years, to look past his skin color. What's the worst that can happen if he's elected? Old E at the inaugural ball? C'mon. I think Americans can vote for a black man, and I think they will.

I second Jackintheboxster,

There are alot of people in this country who are still racist behind closed doors. Simply because racism is not accepted in society anymore, doesn't mean it won't affect this election. There was a survey that I saw on TV not to long ago that showed that Caucasians were more open to accpeting the possibility of Black president than Blacks. Not we all know that the majority of these white people were liars. Blacks have faith, but were more realistic.

Yes. Racism is alive and well in the US. However, any decent, civilized, straight-thinking human being can look beyond skin color most of the time. Not only that, coming off as racist seems like something a lot of people are trying to avoid these days. Also, most people find accusations of racism pretty offensive.

You, on the other hand, seem cream your pants someone on here accuses you of racism. So just because you and your fellow scumbag cronies think alike doesn't mean the rest of the population does.

Nice way of understimating your fellow Americans, asshole.

You have got to be mentally retarded to think that the majority of people in the United States are "decent, civilized, straight-thinking human being"s. We do not live in Shangri-La. We live in Amerikkka. Home to NASCAR, the Confederate Flag, The South, The Christian Right, KKK, skinheads, white trash and other ignorant/gullible Americans duped into believing that the war in Iraq was ground zero for the war on terror.

I may be an asshole, but I am definitely not underestimating my fellow Americans.

The minority are the same idiots that voted for an unqualified councilman in your town. They keep voting in incompetent politicians every election, so what makes you think they'll vote for the right candidate in November?

Don't get me wrong either. I'll be voting for Senator Obama, but unfortunately McCain will be the victor.

Unless Republicans have something up their sleeve, Obama will win in a landslide. Yeah, there's a lot of stupid people on this planet, but I agree with realneo that Americans, even the stupid ones, are sick of this "Republican bullshit."

Now if Hillary decides to run as an Independent it's definitely game over for Obams.

What exactly makes some one a "qualified" councilman? Having served on ASB?
