Just discovered Ratas del Vaticano. Relentless, primitive, balls to the wall rock-n-roll a la GG Allin. It's awesome that they actually let you download their mp3's, too.

Don't listen if you're overly sensitive to ass-kicking rock-n-roll.

I was listening to GG's Carnival of Excess and his 7" with the AIDS Brigade at the gym yesterday. Hanging Out With Jim is a great song.

I'll check out Ratas del Vaticano.

For some reason I got the hankering for listening to Rocket From The Crypt's "Scream Dracula Scream." "Born in '69" is my fave.

Also, I've suggested this before on these boards but no one's ever responded. Go find some Doom Kounty Electric Chair and tell me what you guys think. They're OC band kind of in that Hellacopters, Backyard Babbies vain. Cock rock/punk rock. Good stuff. THey're MySpace site has everything they've ever done for sale, one song at a time. If you've got 99 cents to spare I recommend they're version of Madonna's "Frozen." It's pretty cool. Ha.

I dig it. Pretty catchy songs. Somewhat of a Johnny Thunders meets Guns n Roses. The whole costume thing is a bit much though.

I tried to get into BRMC a couple of years ago and couldn't. Is there something in their sound that I'm underappreciating, or is it the type of band you either like or you dont?

I don't think you're underappreciating them or they're a like/dislike type of band, you didn't like what you heard and that's fine. I know a guy that told me how I didn't "get" Nickelback, because I just told him Nickelback are an utter piece of shit. Matter of tastes.

The Ponys are pretty cool. I've only heard their demos and first album, Laced With Romance. I think they might have changed their style with the newer releases.

Well I guess I just don't like them then. Folks I know like them so much I thought there was somehting wrong with me. Nickelback isn't much of a band, but that Rockstar song is funny. Whenever I go shopping I tell my wife I'm off to dress my ass with the latest fashions.

Been listening a lot to The Gizmos.

A bunch of dorky midwesterners playing catchy punk rock. What's so great about them is that they were playing it without being aware that's there was some cliche fashion that had to go with it. The 76-77 recordings compilation pretty much catches their greatest moments.

VOM (pre - Angry Samoans) - Live at Surf City has been playing quite a bit on my computer. The 7" goes for about 100 bucks on Gemm, which sucks Annoyed .
