Spain's got its problems to be sure, but the euro is very strong compared to the US dollar, let alone the Peso. According to the article:
| language, lenient immigration policies and the strong euro make the environment more congenial. |
People are saying more and more that the fall of the US as a superpower wont be a cataclysmic event, rather it will simply be a decline in the US' global relevance. I find the prospect of this fascinating, especially because I was tired of all those comparisons to Rome. |

To answer your question, NO. Spain is in way better condition than Mexico is.
As to the fall of the American Culture...
The fall of the American superpower won’t be one of those vanishing acts of civilizations centuries ago because of the way we communicate in the world today. The fall of the United States will be done in a fashion much like the way the British fell. There is one reason for this and one alone.
The world loves the American Culture!
Now before you guys start rambling about how people across the world hate us and such, met me explain. Most emerging cultures around the world want what we have and the way we go around with our lives. People in India, China and all those future superpowers want stuff that are “bigger, better, faster”. That is why the future financial capital of the world (Dubai) has gone in a skyscraper boom. Shanghai has the biggest Ferris wheel in the world (which the British hate) and Tokyo has the tallest building.
We have become the victims of our own success. Americans have to learn to live with a lesser title… We will be less like the superpower we are right now and more… Canadian, per se…
Two thousand years after Rome, there have been many civilizations that have come and gone, but if you notice… most civilizations after Rome, haven’t simply disappeared. Most superpowers across the world have simply “shrunk”. I.e. England, Spain, France, Moors, USSR, and now America.
Now the more fun question is…. Who will be the next superpower?
UAE, China or India? |
