| During the last two months I have come to an encouraging realization that Calexico High School is not the same high school I attended four and 1/2 short years ago. I have been a substitute teacher and an assistant coach on the football, basketball, and track teams since January and every day I notice something that confirms my new thoughts of CHS; kids running to their classroom to avoid being tardy, all classroom are organized by department and coaches being scrutinized and background checked for participation in athletics, just to name a few and all of which did not happen during my high school years. |

Boy, sounds like you're fishing for a job, with all that brown nosing of Barraza. You ain't saying nothing new, fact is, you are new, to the system, that is, and, yeah, in your view, perspective, there are a few new things, but you ain't gonna pull the wool over anybody's eyes that's been working there for more than ten years....you gotta alot to learn...still a little green behind them ears? Stick around a while and you might be painting a different picture, but you are seeing everything through rose-colored glasses, in time they'll come off, the veil will be lifted, the truth will set you free, just be patient, have fun. Gotta go cut some hay, later ya'll. |

| I agree that the community needs to become more proactive, though at the same time, it would be nice for those in charge to be more accountable. |

How can we all be more proactive and force these nincompoops out of office?
It's not like Los Hermanos Pacheco are going to resign. These guys have absolutely no shame. Lewis Pacheco is still running for City Council as if nothing ever happened. The rest of those involved in this scandal (board members and/or district staff) need to show some dignity and submit their resignation papers.
Do we need to put together a petition, protest in front of the CUSD office, TP their homes, write our congressman, call 357-HOPE?
If we don't do anything about it, it'll be the same people running the show come next school year and we'll all be bitching about them again. |
