I've got a few problematic neighbors that need some resolution.
One just completely gave up and has let their front lawn turn into a jungle with a variety of weeds and about 2+ feet tall grass. This neighbor is right next to me and so when I mow my lawn I feel like just going through theirs and spelling out PUTO. Then they'd have to start taking care of their yard, you would think.
The other neighbor has a dog that just won't shut up. I have no problem if the dog barks when burglars or cholos are in the vicinity, but this mutt is practically a rooster as it starts its non-stop barking at sun up, sometimes even before my alarm clock goes off. It is my unwanted wake-up call. It also occasionally barks late at night, which can be really annoying when I'm trying to do some quality posting on C.com.
I'm all for the ethical treatment of animals, so I'm not about to toss over some poison or a mongoose to quiet down this pup, so I've so far resorted to civilized solutions, which have NOT worked. I've even phoned up animal control so they could give the dog owner a heads up that their dog needs some training and/or attention.
So any recommendations here would be greatly appreciated.
Also, feel free to share your neighbor horror stories, 'cause you know how we all love our neighbors.

The problem with my bad lawn neighbor is a bit complicated. I believe the homeowner is a single mom or something. If so, can I just ask her to mow her freakin' lawn? It's obvious it needs A LOT of maintenance and maybe she can't afford to pay someone to do it. I'm not volunteering to do it either.
The problem with the dog, I'm not 100% what house it is since it's somewhere in the back. I'm considering attaching a note on the mailbox complex thingy for all in that area to see and that could be embarrassing for the dog owner. |

| If I were in your situation I would mow the neighbors lawn. It would be the nice thing to do. Very neighborly. |

It's at the point where a lawn mower couldn't go over it. You'd have to use some farm equipment to get this job done.
I had thought about helping out when I started seeing the signs, but like I said, the situation is complicated and I didn't want to interfere.
How much you charge to mow the lawn? |

Effin' neighbors. I bought a house in a subdivision in EC, and I live on the corner. THere house directly in back of me is also on the corner, but it's the first thing you see when you cruise into the hood. The guy never ever cuts the lawn. It's dead, over grown, with weeds so bad, they're climbing outta the gutter. I felt like I had no right to say shit.
But I snapped a couple months ago. I spent good money and effort putting sprinklers and sod in my backyard so my kid would have a place to chill and play. But this motherfudger didn't do anything. Finally, a saltcedar sprouts right next to the fence and grows all the way up past the fence line. Anyone who knows anything about saltcedars know they suck all the water out of the vicinity, meaning all of my grass within 10 feet of this thing was dying. I walked over there, pounded on the door and told if you don't tale it out I'm going out there with a flame thrower.
He told go ahead. I got screwed. I actually had to go back there and did it up myself, or risk losing all my grass. Fucker. Thank God he recently got foreclosed on. |

I had the same problem. In my case, my neighbor bought a chihuahua and decided to leave it outdoors. The dog yelps well into the night and starts up again early in the morning.
I'm not big on telling people how to act right, so I spent months trying to just get used to it, but couldn't. Eventually my wife gave birth to our daughter and I don't notice the yelping dog nearly as much as i used to. So my recommendation to you is procreation. That's all it took for me. |
