I had never seen a High Speed chase in my life..let alone IN TOWN!

An old beat up Car traveling east on Hwy 98 in front of Riteaid was being chased by the Border Patrol. At first i thought the car had lost control because it jumped the curb and almost ran into a building, cars, people...but then i see it speed through the sol market parking lot and almost hit an expedition that was at the stop sign.

what i dont understand is why the Border patrol didnt use thiere sirens to advise the people in that area to watch out.

they had thier lights on...but no sound!

im sure that lady walking out of sol market would have appreciated the warning.

I've never heard a border patrol turn on a siren. Maybe they aren't equipped with one?

Why encourage a high speed chase when there are tons of BP vehicles in town and they could easily corner the getaway car? Sounds like many people were put at risk because a BP got an adrenaline high. There's too much traffic in town to chase someone around.

Please tell us you took some video, even it was some crappy video from your cell phone.

Sorry..it happened so fast that by the time i reached for my phone they were chasing the car down the alley between Imperial Ave and emerson.
Im not trying to bad mouth the border patrol but they Drive around town like they own the place....same thing with cops. like stop signs and lights dont apply to them.

when i first got my licence back in the day me and my brother were coming from the new port..we pulled over and we switched..so i could drive..on our way we went and as soon as we got into town like 5 border patrols surround the car.. lights, sirens GUNS! just because they thought it was wierd that we switched out in the middle of no where..

that was my first time ive ever sat on a curb! lol

at the moment it was embarrasing...but now i look back and...get mad! lol

THIS IS BORDER PATROLS way of not pursuing anyone. They have a strict no pursuit policy, but do it any way. I have seen them chase people down the grade almost causing a collision. I also know that they are always the first on scene when a load of illegals crash. When asked if they were in pursuit, they always say that they were not. If you would look into how many times they are either the reporting parties or first on scene, anyone could see that they in fact were in pursuit and did not have their lights or sirens on. They cause most of those collisions. Let's go after the Mexican's who want to work. I don't remember any Mexican Terrorist in 911, do you? Those terrorist did not come in through our southwest borders.
