I had completely forgotten about Calexico's birthday this week. I knew I should have added it to my Google Calendar. I didn't even buy her a gift, so now I need to rush out to get one and hope I can also find the right birthday gift bag at one of our local 99 cent stores and pray it's not the same one someone else also picked out. That's always pretty embarrassing.
But apparently there was a big party on Monday and I wasn't even invited. I understand, I must have somehow missed her TXT. Today there's a cake cutting ceremony in front of the library at 5:30. I hope it's a big cake because I never end up with a piece.
I think this weekend I'll take out Calexico for dinner and a drink or two. Maybe I'll get lucky and she'll end up paying for the check too. I hear she does that a lot. She's a big slut like that. |

| Yeah, there was a big party and apparently it was held a stone's throw from my house. I thought Mexicali had organized a militia and was attacking BP agents (I say that will happen some day). Turns out it was just a bunch of fireworks. |

I feel a little better now knowing I wasn't the only one not invited.
But seriously, how are we, the people, supposed to know about these events? I try and stay on top of this kind of stuff, but I just end up reading about it after the fact.
Is the city doing enough to promote it to all the common folk like us? |

I don't know if jthe city has a website, besides Calecia.com. They should have a (at least) monthly newsletter that we could sign up for. |
