Who's running for city council in 2008?
We know that our very own whitebread (AKA Michael C. Mayne) is taking a shot at one of the titles, but who else is going to be part of this battle royal in June? I'm sure we have enough candidates to setup a ring behind city hall and have them all go at it.
Who would be the first to go over the top rope?
Who would be bringing in some foreign objects?
Who will form an alliance with another only to be betrayed in the end?
Who will be the last three standing?
Can we have a special guest referee? |

I'd love to referee that one, I'd run it just like regular Calexico politics.
Calexico Politics, as clean as its river.!

On a serious note, anyone want to help put together a real debate with ALL the candidates.
I'm very interested in doing one, but I need help. |

| What exactly do you need? Do you want to come up with questions that will make the candidates cringe in embarrassment about issues that should've been handled a long time ago? |

Specifically with logistics.
- We need to secure a facility with the proper sound
- An emcee (MC)
- Guest speaker (?)
- Volunteers during the debate
- Reaching out to the candidates to make sure they participate
- Targeting Calexico youth, especially those who will become or have recently become eligible to vote
- Publicity/Marketing
- Legal advice?
- and anything else I can't think of at this very moment
Questions will be submitted by the Calecia.com community via Calecia.com, although they will be asked during the debate. |

| it would be great. I doubt that any of the candidates would show up. Except for Whitebread, we know he's down. |

well get together with a class at SDSU Calexico and/or Calexico High and have it @ rodney or @ a CHS gym.... im pretty sure that if you incorporate a class there, the school, which ever you pick will help you out in providing the space...
You should also have kpbs 97.7 to do their community service and provide live coverage of the debate... and do a podcast of it online so that you can publish the podcast @ Calecia.com! Just a thought... |

I was thinking about getting with SDSU-IV again, specifically the ASC/G, since they really helped us out with the Calexico in Calexico concert back in 2004. Hopefully there's still time to have them consider us.

I like this idea. Thanks.
KPBS' "These Days" was at the Mid-Winter Fair. They might just come down again and cover the battle royal. |

| In regards to getting all the candidates together for a debate.... this is going to be a feat, since all don't even attend the council meetings. But hey, party at the park, and we are all there. I'm pretty sure all will be out in the public eye tomorrow at the cake cutting ceremony at KIKI |
