Ed O'Neill who played Al Bundy on Married With Children is going to be playing Joe Friday on the new Dragnet series. What do you think of him playing a serious role. I'm curious. I think Ed O'Neill is a really good actor and am looking forward to both Dragnet and the Married With Children reunion.

If he's not playing Al, he plays a cop. I've seen him in a few movies and he's on some detective show, right now, and he's always a cop/detective. I don't think he's especially good in straight roles. I'd rather see him in comedy.

Yup. Although, I never saw it, I know that he played Popeye Doyle in a made-for-tv sequel of The French Connection.
