A while back we talked about the new 7 Wonders of the World. Some of you started pointing out some wonders in Calecia.

So what would they be?

Green Pipes?
New River?
Giant Pencil by New River?
The Border Fence?
...?

I know Heber has one wonder and that's the World Peace Missile Monument.

Right now, I can think of one, and that's the hot dog stand on 2nd. It's been there for as long as I can remember and the hot dogs still kick ass.

It's too bad they never expanded.

Can we include natural wonders? You've got to include the Barranco (sp?) from back in the day, don't you? What about McDonald's on Imperial? Those statues that guard the play area, the creepy depiction of Ronald and friends you see on the way to the restrooms, that wierd McDonald's car that is on permanent display in the north parking lot ... I think that Gonzalez dude that owns the place enjoys the drugs a little bit.

It is a wonder how two women can work in a 5x5 space all day.

You're talking about OUR Grand Canyon? Wouldn't that be the Green Pipes?

The statues are still there?

They'd have to be landmarks that still exist. Some of the landmarks we as Calecianos did not fight to preserve are:

The Barn: Home to the Satan worshippers of Calecia.
FedMart Sign
The Love Shack
Mains School Dragon
Mrs. Blanche Charles creepy old 3-story home on Rockwood Ave.

We'd then have to include the mural on the Mains cafeteria building and the one at Pichoneras.

Although the one on the border fence, Binational Mural, is supposed to be from a local artist: Armando Rascon. Except that it might go away if the new 3-tier border fence gets put into Calexico.

They must've recently painted the entire warehouse, because this mural is now gone.

I'd go with De Anza Hotel...it's actually considered a historic site...I can't remember where I read about it...
I'd also go with the 1001 Novelties store... Laughing
