The Senior Project was the classic example of how someone at the District Office or a Principal got hold of an idea that worked some where else and tried to implement here without any success.

Students hated it with a passion. It was the longest running scam in Calexico history. Damn, I can't remember what it required. I think it was a 3-page paper and a presentation and both utterly worthless. Though, I remember community members coming to school to judge the presentations and they thought they were the shit. Hilarious.

As far as CAHSEE, the easiest test ever made. Plus, you get to take it as many times as possible.

When I was in HS it was a ten page paper, i think some type of public presentation and a presentation before community members. I remember one of the english teachers saying he developed the senior project along with a couple of other local people. For my project I taught a friend to play Stairway to Heaven on an acoustic guitar. This friend's project consisted of teaching me to play a couple mariachi songs ... on the guitar. It was the most brilliant plan ever.

Senior projects, anywhere, are and always will be a complete waste of time.

Take for example, my senior project. It revolved around economics class. The teacher was a complete asshole about it. It involved getting together in a group of four people, buying stocks, and seeing how much money you could make from them. We had to do this bullshit "business" presentation on how the stocks were doing and how much money we made for the "client". Throghout the whole semester the teacher had fooled us into thinking that we had to do an awesome job or else we wouldn't pass, so we were slaving ourselves into this project. In the end, he gave everyone A's.

I learned nothing about economics that semester. When I took it in college, the professor was shocked by me not knowing anything besides the definition of supply and demand.

Fuck you Central Union High.
