Another year, another dissapointed realneo. Seriously though, I agree the Lakers have gotten a ton of calls. It's not fair. But the Jazz got some too, the refs kept a sweep from happening when they gift wrapped game 3 for Utah, but I have to say the amount of calls the Lakers get is a little embarassing. It slightly diminishes the extreme pleasure I get from watching them win in the playoffs. |
i'm not really dissapointed. maybe if it was 10 years ago i would have been, but i'm pretty used to it now. my teams (buffalo bills and utah jazz) have never won a championship and probably never will. I'll stick to my teams whether they suck or not till the day i die. it's funny how i saw a kid wearing a boston celtics jersey the other day. |

Lakers now up 3-1 - on the defending champs San Antonio SPurs now on the brink of elimination.
So, did Fisher foul Barry on that last play? I think so. |

Yeah, he did. But WTF is Brent Barry? He's not marketable! |

yup, barry wont get that call. Lakers did enough to take the game. spurs never lead, duncan and parker were tired, ginobli never showed up. spurs are pretty much done. Lakers are young and athletic. |

I didn't see the whole game, but I was surprised the Spurs lost that double digit lead after the 1st quarter. Did they get "tired" again? |

It's Bryant having a dream season, MVP, NBA title, and a Gold Medal. Only one man has done that before. Guess who? Will Bryant be as good as him? |

He hasn't quite accomplished 2 of the 3 items you listed, but if he does do it, then I think the more important accomplishment for Kobe will be winning an NBA title WITHOUT Shaq.
I think that's what he's shooting for the most. |

I think you're right. But I've got to think a guy with an ego like his (have you seen this dude's website?) wants to be called the greatest ever. I don't know what he could do to achieve that, though. |

If he can take about 50, 60 shots a game the way Jordan did, I'm sure he will.
I've always been so skeptical about Jordan and Kobe. Yes, they're great, yes, they're amazing athletes, blah, blah, blah. But look at who's around them. If they don't win championships, they need better supporting casts. When they do, it's because they're so great. Even though I don't follow the guy much, I think Lebron is leaps and bounds better than Kobe, and possibly even Jordan. I know Lebron already gets a lot of hype, but he definitely deserves it more than Kobe. Give Lebron Gasol and Fisher or Scottie and any of the bulls from that era, and he'll give you 10 championships without breaking a sweat. Kobe needs everyone to play well, or else he'll get 1000 points, and still lose. If everybody's sucking on the CAVS (which is usually the case), Lebron will step it up and find a way to win.
Let any other "good" player take as many shots as Kobe and he'll eventually start producing the same numbers. Maybe not with the same finesse, but he'll give you the points.
When I think about Kobe, I always think about another Laker ball hog. Cedric Ceballos. That guy used to score insane points all of the time. Why? He was a ball hog. I still remember people holding up signs that used to say "There is no I in team", and that was at home. The only difference between Kobe and Ceballos is that Kobe is somehow able to charm the hell out of everyone, while Ceballos was just a flat out shmuck. No excuses. |
