Didnt notice but Rockets have a 12 game win streak, Lakers have an eight game win streak. Man is the West loaded this year. Phoenix got trampled by Detriot and are not looking that bueno with the big cactus Shaq. |

NBA ball is cool again because the talent is concentrated in a few teams.
Out West, the Spurs are still the team to beat in a best of 7 series. They make you play half court offense, and they have the best playoff D. However, basketball is a game of calls and home court, and they won't have that.
That said, the Lakers if they remain the #1 seed will be tough to beat at home. Like realneo said Utah is tough too because it is so damn hard to win in Utah. They are a grinder and do not overlook them.
The Rockets have size and have won 12 in a row. Everyone else is a pretender.
The Suns will go deep only if Shaq plays 15-15 ball. But that is the biggest wait and see.
Out East, it's the Pistons to lose. They are boring, but they are the Spurs of the East. That Celtic-Piston final will be ever so boring. |

Haven't heard the Loose Cannons show in a while, but it's pretty good and entertaining. Better than that "I'm out!" crap. |
Loose Cannons are the worst sports radio show in the country. They don't even talk 'bout sports. Lot's of yelling and pimpin' Oggies pizza. Crap.
As for Rome, he's been played, but in small dosis once in a while he is ok. |

They're entertaining and that's all that matters (to me).

Nothing shocking from a guy who holds an annual Oscars party. |

I dont know what it is about basketball i just cant sit down drink a beer and watch a game the game is so not worthy. i remember growing up i couldnt wait for NBA inside stuff with Mohamed Rashad and the best day of the week was sunday getting to watch the Bull againts the Knicks or the Bulls owning the lakers. i know there's plenty of good players out their but i guess its just not the same when we used to have MJ,
Aids Man, Isiah thomas, Karl Malone, Hakeem, David Robinson, Patrick Chango Ewing, it might just be me but i think basketball sucks now. with all these damn thugs and also Army Brats raping poor little white girls in Colorado what a Shame im surprised the Lakers hire such a sexual offender i would be worried for the fans he might strike again. about the only Decent players left in the league are T-Mac And Yao. |

It is just you.

You're right. It's not the same. The NBA is far more entertaining and competitive than it was in the Nineties. In some ways MJ was as bad as for the NBA as Sportscenter was. He left a void when he retired after the Bulls' second three-peat, and that void has been filled with exciting, fast paced, hard fought basketball which is superior in every way to the game that was played in Jordan's glory days.

The charges were dropped, and not because Kobe beat the rap. The chick was making a cash grab. Not that this makes Kobe a great guy, but there is a pretty big difference between Unfaithful Husband and Convicted Rapist.

I didn't really care before, but if the no-defense-playing-TMac-and-Yao Rockets make the playoffs I am really going to enjoy watching Phil and the Lakers own Rick Adelman yet again. |

The NBA is not more competitive and especially not entertaining as the 90’s or 80’s. Just compare the Original Dream Team, to the Dream team of this era that lost to Puerto Rico. Players today don’t play any defense and have the luxury of playing in foul-happy league.
Once the hand-check was banned the league became an isolation-type game. Give the ball to Iverson on top of the key or free-throw extended and clear everyone else out. Let him do his thing.
The Suns were the closest thing to entertainment, and they absolutely played no D. The Lakers right now are playing a good brand of basketball because they have players who can shoot. After all, this is a league that had to move the 3 point line in because so many players couldn’t shoot and scoring was down.
Also, the playoffs are 3 months long because David Stern wants every game to be on the weekend. This takes away the entertainment value. |
