The Guess Who will perform 7:30 p.m. March 8 on the Granite Construction Grandstand Stage and Bowling For Soup will be on that same stage 7:30 p.m. March 7.

“Both of these events will be free with an admission to the fair,”

It's not every day you get the greatest band ever and the greatest photo montage ever in the same place. Your welcome.

No, the fair didn't always bring down washed up acts; just in the last 10 years or so. Y&T wasn't washed up. Mr. Mister had a song in the Top 40 when they played here. Garth Brooks was an up and comer and Willie Nelson and some of those other country acts were going strong. In the late 60s, Steppenwolf played here. Dr. Hook in the 70s.
It has just been in recent years that everything sucks. And if you realize how the fair booking goes, there is usually a list of bands you can get for a certain range of money. There are usually has-been bands mixed in with young, hot bands that would do well. But time and again they choose the dinosaurs to roam the earth around fair time.

Wow, The Guess Who. I like a couple of their songs (These Eyes, No Time) but I think it's all new members, I don't know, I'd feel like I'm watching a cover band play these songs. Oh well, Mid-Winter Fair time of the year.
