| Wow, it seems that this might have been an interesting City Council meeting with the Mayor taking on the "rookie", yet strong Fuentes. I did not attend this meeting, not sure if anyone did. I am sure it must have been nice to see them go at it. So the question is, "was it a good call by Fuentes to do have the press conference or not?" |

| It's too bad that the council doesn't concentrate on building parks and youth recreational services. |

What's the link to Louis Fuentes' new personal Web site?
Calecia2.com?
Louis,
If you really want some feedback from Calecianos, it's all here, buddy. |

| I agree, we should have all City Council members and School Board Members for that matter, come to Calecia.com to check out what the community thinks about how things are going in the city. What better way to see what the citizens of Calexico think? The question is "will they do it?" What I think we should do is have a debate in the next election and have it sponsored by Calecia.com, on Calecia.com. |

You're right. They WON'T do it.
Louis Fuentes, or someone claiming to be the coucilman, did sign up to Calecia.com a while back, but they never participated. Fuentes would be the one most likely to get involved. All the other old school politicians probably aren't too in touch with this ultra hi-tech thing called the Internets. Too many tubes.
We've gotten involved in the political arena with video content and interviews, but we would probably need a new batch of volunteers this time around. |

I don't have a problem with what Fuentes said. I have a problem with the way he said it. To call it a state of emergency was a bit much, and to do it in a press conference as "acting" mayor while Renison and the others were out of town was also uncalled for. It was more grandstanding than anything else. Self promotion.
A debate would be cool. |

| I applaud Louis Fuentes for his bold act that he did to show the city's economic dilemma. The arena and circumstances in which it was done, is something different. This was definately information that needed to get out to the people of calexico. I am Michael Mayne, and as you have probably read, I will be running for a council seat in the June election. I have been reading Calecia.com for a while now. It really encouraged me to see people who take the time out of their day to express what they feel. Most people dont have the time, let alone the effort to get out and fight for what they think is right. Most of the topics that have been brought up here, do have substance. They do occasionally go off-topic, but still have the roots for a constructive argument. I have contacted "el christ" and let him know I will be creating a new profile with my last name in it for all to see and know it is me. I would be glad to answer any and all questions that my fellow calexicans may have. If a new thread is started, I will respond in there. |

| I'm glad to see the young people of Calexico get involved in local civic issues. Good luck to Mr. Mayne. |

| Fuentes' site is up and running now. It looks pretty good, and seems to have to been updated recently. |
