The only local bands that I know of are:
Break from Society- Reggae
Audio- Soft Rock
Cab 86- punk
These bands are all pretty good, if you're into their style of playing.
What other local bands are there? Are they any good? Are they worth going to watch? When and where do they play? |

| There's a band called The Comrads who actually show a lot of potential. I guess they think they play punk but they are young and sloppy and end up sounding like a pretty cool scum rock band. I guess there's another "punk" band called Uranus, but Mr. Amp is gonna have to tell you about them because I haven't even heard them play. |

I had a chance to hear a recording of this band, and from what I heard. They are surprisingly good. I was surprised to hear a scum band here in the Valley (well, one that was good at least.) |

| You can't have any serious discussion of local bands without mentioning Los Malos! |

I believe Los Malos are the only local "professional" band. It seems that they've played at every club that ever existed in Calexico at one time or another. |

As much as "Los Malos" are a local joke, they are actually a pretty accomplished band.
I used to work in a restaurant where they used to play at, and one day during my break I started looking at all of their photos and they've played on some pretty famous shows like, "Sabado Gigante."
I personally don't enjoy them because all they do is covers, but they are probably the most accomplished band to come out of the valley. |
