For you parents with young girls who play softball. This is a great opportunity to learn from a great imperal valley standout who has played at the highest level that only a proud parent could dream or imagine of. Current division 1 softball player from Oklahoma University, Amber Flores. This opportunity does not come often back to Calecia! TAKE ADVANTAGE OF IT!

Flores to hold softball camp

The Amber Flores Softball Camp for girls ages 8 to 18 is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 24 at the Calexico High softball field.

Registration can be made from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays at the Calexico Police Athletic League office, and from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Fridays at Emerson Field in Brawley.

Registration is $30 which includes a lunch, raffles and a T-shirt. Space is limited. For more information call Alex Flores at 455-4567 or Gina Rodriguez at 562-0094.

Thanks for doing this Amber!

Ex Calecia football standout Class of 94!

While Calexico girls will benefit from attending this camp since Ms. Flores has learned from playing at a top national program, I’m perplexed at her decision to make a quick dollar from the city she shunned just a few years ago. After all, Ms. Flores turned her back on CHS and decided to play at Southwest.

It’s undeniable that she has the skills and now the experience to instruct the fundamentals, but does she have the leadership qualities that Calecianos need?
