What do you all like? I mean what Chile is the best with Churritos, Soup, Frijoles, Menudo, Tacos? I, personally, really like VALENTINA with anything...It's the best for me...That's stuff is tasty as hell...and hot...not too much, although I have noticed the one with the black label is hotter....the other one with the yellow is more mild but with the same KICK! Hell yeah!
Tapatio is good too! Amor is ok...the most famous I guess for everyone...the Amor with lemon is the best...also like that with my Churritos de la Sombrilla or SOL!!
How 'bout yours? |

There's no way you can say that one chile is definitive. It varies with the food you are eating. With some fresh mariscos, it's Buffalo. With some churritos, it's Amor. To add a nice kick to my fish tacos, I usually add a couple of drops of Salsa Habanera. If I'm eating a chorizo burrito, it's Tapatio.
Different chiles just add a certain flavor to different food. |

I've been adding Bufalo to everything lately, but it's best on mariscos, especially ceviche. I love the tangy/vinegary taste of it.
Like carnicero said, it all depends what you're eating, man. Amor on churritos and durritos is a must.
At restaurants I usually use whatever home-made salsa they have, unless it's awful. For example, at D'Poly's I dip my chips and add the red sauce to my burritos in excess.
With al pastor tacos, I tend to add the darker (more roasted?) salsas, but I guess the classic is the simple red-orange salsa. I think Sara's in Mex has the best selection of salsas.
Are we just talking bottled chili though? |

Up here in Nor Cal, where I'm going to school, I end up putting tapatio on a lot of random stuff, but mostly cup of noodles, cause it reminds me of home and well... its good
The other day I put some on a rice chrispy, it was actually pretty good

Anyone tried some chile sauce from El Yucateco that's supposed to be from an original Mayan recipe? It's habanero based and hot as f.
I think I bought it at Wal-Mart. Anyway, I just had some and boogers kept flowing out of my nose for like half an hour. |

Yeah, I meant bottled chile, not salsa. RIce crispies? Damn, you must have been hungry.
I put some Valentina on my instant soups...not too much, though, and it's the best....And I'm not even a big CHILERO! |

There is a bottled chile that is made from peanuts, it's not bad.
I think it's true that what chile you use depends on what you are eating; but, for general purposes (anything from grilled corn, to fish tacos, to fried chicken, to Doritos) I love Cholula. It's made from chile de arbol which I think has a nice sweetness to it. |
