I can't believe they're remaking a classic like Hellraiser. And they're getting Cliver Barker to write the screenplay. He's going to screw it up, guaranteed!

By the life of me, I don't know why movie studios think it's a good idea to remake classic movies. Has this ever worked? It always goes one of two ways: 1) The classic gets reinvented and fans hate the new version. 2) Too much homage is paid to the original and critics call it pointless (like the 1998 frame by frame remake of Psycho. Good cast, led by Vince Vaughn who was slowly building on the success of Swingers at the time. Hot director, whose previous film was Good Will Hunting. Still this movie was considered a disaster).
Maybe someone else can think of a remake that's been a success on some level, but I sure can't. |

Not really a big fan of the Hellraiser series, but I'd be willing to go check it out just to see how creative they can get with the obvious changes they'll make. I kind of regained faith in horror remakes after seeing the "Dawn of the Dead" and "Halloween" remakes. |

Yeah, I'm not a real big fan of horror flicks, but the last two films I saw that I thought were great were from none other than Rob Zombie, who's music I absolutely hate. House of 1000 Corpses and The Devil's Rejects were amazing.
The Halloween remake is by Rob Zombie as well. Is that really good? |

It's awesome. I, also, cannot stand Rob Zombie's music, but his movies are just genius. The Halloween remake had every single element of the Rob Zombie exploitation flick (sex, extreme violence, mental disorders) while still staying true to the classic horror genre. I highly recommend it.

Would you care to expand on that? |

o so DOTD 2004 was a slap in the face to George A Romero it didnt stay true to the original but it was a "reimaging" but i just didnt like it the only part that stayd true was the mall. Haloween was boring. |
