BTW, the government is not refusing to fully staff... its that there are not enough people applying for the job... plus out of all the people who apply, it is usually that some percentage that does not meet the requirements and/or cannot finish the academy...

Remember what they did for the U.S. military recruitment?

Man, I love that park! They better not touch it...and they better not touch that little Rockwood-1st Street shopping area....I'll protest!!!

But seriously, I don't think they're discussing this with the public...because it'll deffinately get an uprise from the Calexico residents...but I'm sure it's already a blueprint!

You guys have it all wrong... it won’t be a third port of entry, it will end up replacing the original port of entry.... From what I've heard CBP is planning to make that new port of entry the outbound (people who are going to Mex) traffic

This will obliterate the gasoline stations, casa de cambios, etc. on Imperial Ave.

and the old (original) port the inbound (people who are coming to the states) traffic... I think that it would be a great idea because then they could have the new river blvd(what ever that is called in Mex) connect with new lanes in the original but modernized port...

I can deal with this, except going to Eastern Mexicali might be an inconvenience since there really isn't much of a large artery cutting through New River Blvd./Blvd. Rio Nuevo (official name is Bulevar de Los Presidentes). Madero would take you to Justo Sierra and even though Lazaro Cardenas will take you across Mexicali (east to west) in less than 10 minutes, you'll have to drive south on Blvd. de Los Presidentes for another 10.

The third port of entry will be the one that has been proposed to service that "Silicon Border" area over by Mt. Signal... Yeah like if we need so many goddamn ports right... We can't even fully staff one port alone and they want three ports with one of them being massive...

Calexico/Mexicali is the nations 3rd busiest POE, so anything to speed up the process, I'm for it.

As to jobs, the CBP will probably become the #1 employer in USA within the next few years.
