Shots fired at the border

I was just reading about this on the Iv press. Couldn't agree with you more, elchrist. I think these BP agents are abusing their power. What if they try to shoot an illegal, and that bullet goes through the fence and hits a resident the mexican side? Then what? I tell you what, shits gonna hit the fan, big time. Give them rubber bullets, im sure it'll stop the mexicans, but it wont kill them. I think BP tryin to hide something (by not tellin the press). I smell somethin fishy. Somebody needs to do somethin about this. K'mon, a beaner gets killed with an M4 rifle because an Agent "thinks" the beaner is about to pick up a rock? thats bolony. I understand, these mexicans are breaking the law by entering the US without permission, but I dont think it deserves the death penalty.

As for these irresponsible, careless agents, they need to get straightened up. I live about 2 miles from the border, in the boondocks. I see these agents speeding, beating the $hit of the patrol vehicles, for no reason. Also, driving down 98 towards I-8, you see BP agents on the quads racing, and jumping on the dunes, OFFROADING, having a blast. I'm sure i'm not the only one who has seen this. Aren't they supposed to be working?

I'll give the BP the benefit of the doubt that someone across the border really did pull out a gun, but how easy is it for an agent to always use this as self defense?

Even though, if shots weren't fire from Mexico, there's no need for American gunfire.

I agree with you G4mac....god damn, these guys are going too far...shit will hit the fan...and then whenever you're over in Mexicali, if the cops see that you're from over here...ah, forget it...they're already crooked as it is...but something more severe is going to happen to the Caleciano...their wait of retaliating!

The Department of Homeland Security has to reassess the safety of its agents at or near the border. It is apparent that these illegal immigrants will not refrain from using violence against our brothers and sisters in green. Further, these agents are becoming agitated at the increase risk on their safety. Thus, the DHS has to protect the safety and mindset of its agents.

If anything from rocks to bullets is being aimed at our agents, then provide them will bullet proof windows and or vehicles. This will give them sense of security and piece of mind. As elchrist mentioned provide these agents with riot gear or at least some head & eye protective gear. By protecting the safety of our agents they can protect the lives of these people.

This sounds like alot of monday morning quarterbacking. I was there and responded to the shots fired call, and without hesitation would I worry if the suspects firing were illegal, legal, brown , green, or blue.

You fire at a federal agent or law enforcement officer, expect to get shot back at, I would be concerned with my backdrop of Mexicali.

You get a group of illegals and some aggro Coyotes out there, your screwing up their money, and their dope, and your out numbered. Dont think that these are the poor passive mexican immigrants from your 60's movies. There are some bad dudes out there.

I never worked for the border patrol but I work close enough to them that I see I dont want their job. That is not for me. Its easy to criticize when you only see a small portion of what is really going on down on the border.
