Some dude scanned his copy of Lowrider Magazine #1 from 1977 and there happens to be an old-school Caleciano on a lowrider bike inside. Did someone from Calexico make history?

Is this in the KGs?

Doesn't look like the KGs to me. More like La Garra...

His name is Luis Aguilera, he had a cholo nickname but I forgot it. Oh, I think it was "el caballo" or el horsy...same thing. Anyway, this is ghost town corner of Beach and Forth St. Los projects before they remodeled them. He's a cool guy, lives in Oxnard now. Woow, nice to see this one.

Either you dated the guy or you lived in that house... To me that the area looks like KGs, but what do I know? I was only a little Caleciano crawling around in stained diapers back then.

Well, I hope he knows he's part of Lowrider Magazine history.

I wonder if he set any trends or influenced any young cholios. Are you able to get a hold of him so we can ask him a few questions?

No, I didn't date the guy, I was too young. I don't know him personally but I sure remember later on in the 80's he became a janitor for the school district and so I saw him on a regular basis (elementary). I lived near the projects and played with a few girls close to were this picture was taken.
Now that I think about it, he was very hansome and had a nice body too Wink
