I don't know how I missed this one, but this is pretty bad...
A 10th grade female student from Calexico (Catholic) Mission School was ordered to dig a ditch as a form of punishment in 90+ degree weather. Apparently the student's parents approved of the ditch digging as it's part of CMS's discipline program.
"It's just part of our discipline program," she said. "It was not like we had her staked out there."
"Staked." Jebus.
Any other private school horror stories you've experienced or heard about? |

| Just as a correction, Calexico Mission is NOT Catholic but rather belongs to the Seventh Day Adventist which is located on the corner of Second Street and Mary Ave. And boy am I glad that I am not a student there because I can't imagine what they would have me doing these days!!! |

My mistake. I always assumed it was a second-rate Vincent because I know of some VMCHS expels who turned to Mission for their education.
What kind of punishment does Vincent dish out? |

| Rumor has it that they also rape little boys as a punishment. |

I'd like to know what's so bad about that.
If you don't like discipline techniques, just don't take your child to private schools.
If you think it's so bad is because:
1) You are not a teacher and don't know how frustrating is having students talking while you are trying your best to a lesson.
2) You are a parent who imagines that your child is the perfect student and should never be given the 'evil eye.'
I wish REAL discipline was established at the public schools |

If you need REAL discipline then you have failed as an educator. |

so easy to say, but hard to implement in real life; I've been in countless discipline workshops, some good some rather idealistic...
What is controversial is that nobody asked or even thought about what the girl did to receive that type of punishment; thus sending students the message that they can get away with anything. |

How is not asking what did the girl did to receive such punishment sending the message to students that they can do anything? |
