I guess apartments are more important than recreation.

If plans for building the Victoria recreational park have been scrapped, you can forget about any other site in Calexico being used for fun time.

What's has the armory committee done to move forward with the original plan?

And what ever became of the computer lab/center at the old library building?

That's too bad about the Armory. There was such support for recreational facilities from the citizens. Didn't even know about the Victoria Estates project being scrapped. Oh well, guess it's back to the rain basins. Rolling Eyes It would have been nice to have some kind of indoor after school activity with a computer lab and such for the youth to use.

This is just my speculation.

Nothing's been done in the past 3 years and the city doesn't seem to know where the money from the builder is, so we all might as well forget about it. That is unless someone is willing to investigate this even further.

Seems to me that someone should call for an audit or some kind of fiscal report to determine where in fact the monies went to.

It is too bad that Calexico is going back to its old antics again...

Those things getting scrapped can now be added to the list of other things being put on the indefinite hold:

- Parks
- CM Ranch
- Camarena JHS
- Etc.. Etc..

I guess we can only blame the citizenship of Calexico for the failures of the city. No one has really cared about it in the past 50 years. That’s why the city has been this bad mark on the county... Too bad we can’t be like our neighbors to the north... I mean even Heber with its Sidewalk project is getting more respect these days than Calexico, and well let’s not talk about the progress of El Centro and the summersaults that Imperial has done over the past decade.

What can you expect when there's a caste system in place?

Even though us peasants make up about 98% of the population in Calexico, we cannot overthrow this social system. The other 2% have wielded power for the past 50 years and we have become accustomed to it as every day life. They have their own dialect of Calexican, as we have our own. We must talk up to them when the two meet, as they talk down to us. We might as well be bowing down to kings and queens. We do not question their authority.

What we need is a leader to take us on a revolution. Are you that leader, locoinclx?

Down with the Calexico Caste System! Ya basta!
