" The problem lies with the cities not the builders. No city in the valley wants to build parks anymore. They have the builders use retention basins as parks. Cities say they don't have the monies to cover cost of maintenance or worse. A good examble is the City of Calexico, Victoria Homes donated half a million dollars to the city for a park. Where's the park or where is the money? There is a big lump of dirt just sitting there. There is a fight ongoing between Victoria and City of Calexico about the money and park. Talk is that the city now doesn't know where the money is "or who's pocket it went to." Well, it's Calexico. Just like they say, "only in Calexico." " |

| Its time for young blood to enter the Calexico Political Realm. Retreads are good when you hit a slump, and they know what they are doing...do you keep them when all sorts of new stuff is about to happen? Too many smart 20 and 30 somethings in Calexcia to waste. Remember Rick Gonzalez too for the 80th. |

| The reality- Victoria is not going to build a park- they have gone "bye bye" and our local elected officials and city staff really don't care. They are worried out mariachis-getting drunk and getting "freebies" from developers. |

Maybe they changed this to a motor cross park, cause all I see nowadays are people on bikes and quads riding up and down that dirt pile.
And how do you "lose" $0.5M? Does our city administration have ties to the Bush administration?
It's true what chuco boy states. Victoria homes went bankrupt and a park is the least of the city's worries at this point.
Victoria home owners = suckas! |

DUUUUUDE........!!!! Thats exactly what I was going to suggest.
Rent a couple of Dozers and Bobcats from "Elms" and start making hills....that would be an easy solution. Just make sure we get someone like Brian Deegan as a technical advisor. Shouldn't cost too much.

In the meantime the homeless could camp out on this land.
How would the Victoria residents like that? |

The sad part about this whole fiasco is that if the rich part of town can’t get a park in their neighborhood which they paid for.... What can you expect about the poor parts of town? |
