Reports are pouring in that a Starbucks will be opening up in Mexicali soon. It's to be located on the corner of Benito Juarez and Lazaro Cardenas in the Plaza Centenario where the new-ish movie theater is at.
Que padre! |

I have not heard that rumor yet, so maybe that's all it is, just a rumor. Hopefully not, it would be cool to have a Starbucks in Chicali. If that happens though, the one in calexico will probably close down. I don't think a Starbucks would be such a big deal in Mex, since there's a shitload of coffee shops already and sell most of the same shit Starbucks does, and for a fraction of the price.
The old TGI FRIDAY'S building (later a solo un precio) on the corner of Benito Juarez and Calz. Independencia will now become a CALIENTE. Like if we really needed another one, there's already 3. But I guess a Caliente looks better than a Solo un Precio on that corner. Fucken Hank Rhon wan't to take over Mex, he already bought the chinese restaurant Dragon. |

There's a link to a photo on Mexicali Blog with some proof:
Starbucks llega a Mexicali

With Starbucks coming into Chicali, this just shows the vast improvement and growth Mexicali is going through. Mexicali was rated #5 for best quality of life in Mexico for 2006.

I've heard it was La Mision and that he kicked out all the cacaroaches. And wasn't it a Waldos-mart?
BTW: Hank Rhon = German. |

No manches Pato. Estarbucks esta bien cool.
You know that with the cremas it's all about the logo.
Expect half hour lines if you ever make the mistake of going there.
Whoever got the franchise rights to open in Mex should be able to retire by about the second month of that place being open.
My only question is if they are going to make it super elaborate and fancy the way they do with other American franchises. |

| I don't know about that location, no drive-thru and you have to pay for parking and then hope there's parking right in front (which never happens), so then you have to go up into the 2nd or 3rd floor of the parking garage. They should of made it at the Plaza San Pedro or the new plaza next to Cety's, those fools got the money to pay 6 bucks for coffee. |
