Patrick, was picked up by the El Centro Police Department as a dispatcher, not a lucrative job but none the less he works in the law enforcement area. He was actually convicted of sexual penetration of a minor with a foreign object (public info). But he applied for a position as an officer with E.C. didn't get and also applied in Imperial didn't get it and then went to Brawley. How can someone have the audacity to even think of applying for a law enforcement position even as a "parking meter reader" it doesn't matter, when they have betrayed the trust of the community who have entrusted them to uphold the law. I think this guy needs to take a hike. How could El Centro even have hired him???????????????????????? Does anyone have the answer to this million dollar question, please any law enforcement, out there. I can honestly compare this guy to the sexual predator that people are trying to keep out of their neighborhood in the city of Holtville. Yes, I said "predator"...........he was preying on innnocent little girls who their parents thought were being taken care of "they were being taken care of and mentored alright".............
anyways we were talking about another "predator" I'm sorry I lost track Miguel Enciso.....preying on our bill folds, savings accounts, checking accounts, all of our liquid assets.......maybe they'll be preying on his "assets" in JAIL. |

The IV Press reported he was working for Best Choice Realty- I believe the office was next to HR Block/Starbucks in that new mall. What a great human being- fleecing the Calexico youth at PAL and now poor people. Hopefully he will be eating some salad in prison.
As far as the dispatcher- law enforcement protects its own- The SILENT CODE. Even though the taxpayers pay the bills they don't disclose what's going on. I do not whether whether this is a "fact" or just "chisme" on his background. Any Case Number and what court? |

The Calexico Police force overall in my dealings w/ them have been pretty professional on and off duty. Its these type of guys that give them a bad name. Hopefully most of the force has gone through the
"Ethics Stainer" and all the bad apples have been weeded out. Thumbs up to the current force though..... for the most part.
Below are the official I.V. Press releases for Mr. Estrada.
Former Calexico cop pleads in relationship with teen-agerBy DARREN SIMON, Staff Writer
Tuesday, October 30, 2001 10:00 PM PST
A former Calexico police officer who married a 16-year-old girl has pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of statutory rape in connection with his relationship with the girl.
The officer, Patrick Estrada, resigned from the Police Department after his arrest in April.
Estrada, 24, had been involved with a girl who, when the relationship started, was 15.
The girl, whose identify was not released because she is a minor, was 16 when the two were married in Yuma, prior to Estrada being charged by the District Attorney's Office.
It is legal for a 16-year-old to marry in Arizona as long as one parent approves the marriage.
Deputy District Attorney Deborah Owen, said both parents of the girl supported the relationship and marriage.
Estrada was charged with felony statutory rape and the DA's Office also sought a charge of oral copulation with a minor.
Owen said Estrada admitted to the oral copulation but the girl refused to testify against her husband.
Owen said she could have used the Superior Court's contempt powers to force the teen to testify, but it would have meant the girl could be sent to juvenile hall for refusing to testify.
Owen said, "I did not want to put her in juvenile hall."
She said while the charge of oral copulation was dropped, Estrada agreed to plead guilty to misdemeanor statutory rape.
Along with his resignation from the Calexico police force, Estrada is on probation.
The couple is living in Los Angeles County.
Owen said Estrada can apply to other police departments but she said it will be difficult for him to find work in law enforcement.
"For all intents and purposes he has given up his law enforcement career," she said.
Owen added of his pleading, "It still means what he did was a crime."
Owen credited the Calexico Police Department for its handling of the case and the support the department gave to the DA's Office.
Estrada had been with the Police Department since 1998. Police declined to comment on the matter when contacted Tuesday.
David Muñoz, the Whittier attorney who represented Estrada, said he could not comment on the case until he contacted his client. Muñoz said he might have a comment later today.

Calexico cop, teen wed before felony charges were filed
By AARON CLAVERIE, Staff Writer
Tuesday, April 10, 2001 10:00 PM PDT
CALEXICO — Before being charged with two felonies, the Calexico police officer under suspicion of statutory rape of a 16-year-old Police Department volunteer drove to Yuma with the girl and her mother and married the teen.
According to Yuma County records, the officer, Patrick K. Estrada, 24, was married to the girl March 31 with the mother's consent.
In Arizona, a 16-year-old can be married if accompanied by a parent and if the parent signs an official release form.
On April 12, District Attorney Gilbert Otero approved a criminal complaint against Estrada from a report by the Calexico Police Department.
Approval of that complaint means Estrada is charged in Imperial County Superior Court with one count of statutory rape and one count of sexual penetration with a foreign object.
The girl had been involved with the Calexico Police Department youth Explorers program
Calexico Police Chief Tommy Tunson said Estrada has been suspended from the force and will be paid during the suspension.
He said anything that happens in the future with the Estrada case will be handled by the district attorney.
Otero said Estrada could turn himself in later this week or early next week.
The position is required for AdSys ads.
Debra Owen, lead prosecutor on the case, says the DA's office has been in contact with Estrada's lawyer and prosecutors expect his lawyer to set up a time in the near future when Estrada will turn himself in and be arraigned.
If he turns himself in and attends the arraignment, Estrada would plead to the charges and would be released on his own recognizance, according to Owen.
If he does not turn himself in a warrant will be issued for his arrest.
Owen said this morning Estrada is not considered a flight risk.

Calexico police officer surrenders, arraigned on statutory rape charges
By AARON CLAVERIE, Staff Writer
Thursday, April 12, 2001 10:00 PM PDT
Calexico police Officer Patrick K. Estrada turned himself in Thursday afternoon at the Imperial County jail and was arraigned on felony charges of statutory rape and sexual penetration of a minor with a foreign object.
Estrada, 24, of El Centro pleaded not guilty to both charges.
Estrada allegedly committed multiple sexual acts with a 16-year-old girl while she was a volunteer in the Calexico Police Department's Explorer program.
According to Yuma County records, Estrada was married March 31 to the alleged teen-age victim.
Arizona law allows a 16-year-old to marry as long as a parent signs a release form. The form for Estrada's bride was signed by her mother.
At his arraignment Thursday, Estrada's bail was set at $10,000 and was paid by a bondsman. His pre-trial hearing is set for 9 a.m. Tuesday.
The felony charges against Estrada were filed April 5, according to District Attorney Gilbert Otero.
Otero filed the charges after approving a complaint sent to him by the Calexico Police Department.
Deputy District Attorney Debra Owen said Estrada's bride could be called as a hostile witness if the case goes to trial.

CALEXICO — A Calexico police officer under suspicion of the statutory rape of a 16-year-old girl could face criminal charges this week, according to Calexico City Attorney Michael Rood.
The girl was a volunteer member of the Calexico Police Department's Explorer youth program, according to city sources.
The officer could face criminal charges because an internal investigation by the Calexico Police Department has been turned over to Imperial County District Attorney Gilbert Otero, according to City Manager Richard Inman.
The officer, who has been accused of improper relations with the girl and violating departmental policy, has been suspended with pay for the past week during the internal investigation, according to Rood.
Calexico Police Chief Tommy Tunson said, "We discovered a discrepancy and turned it over to the district attorney for investigation."
Otero said this morning the police officer has not yet been arrested.
The name of the police officer allegedly involved is being withheld by authorities. The name of the minor will not be reported because of her age and concerns for her privacy.
City Councilman Gilbert Grijalva said he "imagines there will be public concerns" about the integrity of the Police Department and the Explorer program.
"It is our responsibility as councilmen and citizens of Calexico to make sure these things don't occur," Grijalva said.
The position is required for AdSys ads.
He said the council will take steps to be familiar with all of the guidelines that govern the Explorer program and other volunteer groups.
City Councilman Frank Montoya said he thinks "99.9 percent of the force is doing an excellent job."
"I don't think the residents of Calexico will lose confidence in their Police Department. You can't judge the police force from just one incident," Montoya said.
Richard Sotelo, president of the Calexico Police Officers Association, said the public will believe what it wants to believe.
"Incidents like this are not widespread, but no one is going to believe it," Sotelo said.
Sotelo said lack of supervision wasn't the reason the alleged incident occurred.
"One or two officers might do something like that, but the supervisors are doing a good job."
Inman said in his 27 years of government service he has never heard of an incident like this.
He called it a "completely isolated incident."
Mayor Victor Carrillo stressed the professionalism with which city officials have handled this case.
"We've taken every step to protect the privacy of the individual accused and the alleged victim," Carrillo said.

The house that was foreclosed will be put on the auction block on Friday morning. Sad that some investor will probably end up picking it up with cash only to turn around and rent it out to another family who has dreams of owning a house someday.
So basically the Arvizu family was just paying rent for $1800 a month. |
