Some (or is it just a few?) people that live(d) in Las Casitas complain about the traffic the swap meet creates during Sat. and Sun. Swap meet goers park in practically every street in this neighborhood, so it's tough to find parking of your own.

They should have thought about that before making their garages into studio apts. of course Las casitas is crowded with or without the swap meet!! gees.

Seems like some of those houses are mini-apartments. Each room converted into a rental unit.

good thing MY stand didn't burn down. Shocked Sad for all those people who lost their merch, though.
I wasn't very surprised when I found out it burned. Those were the most flame-prone stands there.
In one corner there was a stand filled with aerosol paints and shit. Next to it a stand full of wooden doors. And to its sides, barrels and barrels of used clothing, carpets and boxes.

Somebody told me it might have been intentional. But who would maliciously light fire to the swapmeet, wtf?

I heard the "Other Tienda del Army" burned down too. If so, that sucks 'cause he had a lot of cool military merch like the Osama and Saddam body bags.

On the southside, there are/were stands with carpet, doors/windows, fabric, plus used stuff. All uninsured shops, I'm sure.

Oh, but these aren't real businesses, according to those who complain during Valentine's Day and other holidays. They only work their asses off during the summer heat to feed their families.

Shocked when the paint started to explode, it reminded me of distant mortatrs going off, and I decided it was time to head back to the car!
