Skull found in Red Rock Canyon
STAFF REPORT
OCOTILLO — A human skull was found by a hiker in the Red Rock Canyon area north of here Thursday.
The discovery was reported at 12:02 p.m., according to the Imperial County Sheriff's Office log.
The skull is thought to have been in the area for no less than six months, said Deputy Coroner Henry Proo.
While a report by a forensic anthropologist is pending, the skull is thought to have belonged to an undocumented immigrant female in her late 40s who had a lot of dental work, said Proo. |
