It can be said that De La Hoya beat up on all Mexican fighters (ruelas, paez, chicanito, miguel a. gonzalez, yory boy, chavez, vargas, etc...and other latinos mayorga, leija, molina, rivera,) but he never beat the Mosleys, Trinidads, Hopkins, & Mayweathers of the sport, ....No wonder Mayweather trained him...to live up to the 'Mexican Assasin' name. And maybe this is why many Mexicans dont like De La Hoya. Not that it matters to him, he made around 50 mil this fight. De La Hoya truly Golden indeed.
Interesting thing to notice at this fight, De La Hoya the Mexican-American and being 5 de Mayo comes in wearing a red robe resembling no Mexican pride, while Mayweather wore the sombrero and some nice Mexican-colored leathered shorts. A Cinco de Mayweather night. |

| He only celebrates the 16th of September-the real independence day. He considers Cinco de Mayo a "gringo" type holiday. |

For decades, boxing was all about one fight. Let me make this one fight and as much money as I can and we'll worry about the other stuff later. There was no long-term planning or long-term thinking. Mixed Martial Arts promotions build a brand that would eventually enhance the matchups of the fights and make them bigger. The live gate, the pay-per-view broadcast, merchandise sales, DVD sales, Internet ¦ it all works together.
Out of those 120 million how much went to the purse of Oscar and Mayweather and how much was invested back into boxing or the actual fighters?????? Get my drift son………..
Now rebut that anyone please.
You know what (boxing analyst) Max Kellerman says ? He says that if you take four street corners, and on one they are playing baseball, on another they are playing basketball and on the other, street hockey. On the fourth corner, a fight breaks out. Where does the crowd go?
They all go to the fight.
Boxing isn't dying in that sense but it will be surpassed by MMA I'm certain of that. |

MMA will never get 2.15 buys on one pay-per-view at 55 bucks a pop. NEVER.
The End. |

on your first point, thats where Golden Boy Promotions comes in, and a fight breaks out at the fourth corner, the crowd goes overthere. that's why 2.1 mil peeps bought the fight last saturday. good point. |
