I know this for a fact an LT from the California Highway Patrol is retiring and will become the next under sheriff of the Imperial County Sherriffs dept..............and you can take that to the bank. |

I would have to go with Gomez if those were my only three choices. Unfortunatley, some are worried that Gomez would launch a vendetta against those persons he may have had a beef with earlier in his career as a Calexico Police Officer/Sgt.
Well, maybe....but the reality is Gomez improved his leadership abilities, did good things for the community, improved his police force and is a solid leader, who can deal with the tasks set before him. Taking care of his troops would be paramount. Good people produce a good quality product/service. He has proven that he can do the job correctly in Calipatria.
I don't know Sgt. Tabarez well enough to comment, and I am not sure of his qualifications, but I don't remeber reading about the educational background during his run for sheriff.
And, believe it or not, I have seen a slight change of attitude for those in the current admin, they know a change is coming, they just dont know who. I hope it is some one from the outside that can flush this poison out and get back to policing and not politicking.

When is the current chief leaving? He should leave now that way who ever takes over cleans house at the department. Things can't get any worse, just ask those officers who have been there for ages. I said officers not higher ups........Well you can ask Sgt. Gerardo he is down to earth and the stripes have not gone to his head. That's why the officers like him, not like some other Sgts. or higher ups......
Hey maybe Tabarez will do a good job. Or maybe Chief Gomez from Calipatria can clean house.....He is down to earth too. Either one would be a good choice for the department.........Chief Sanchez should take those he has underneath him with him (out of the PD)...... |

Well, Well, Well, Gryphone1, just like always, talking s**t. Especially, when they keep telling me that you're still flunking sergeant exams. But that's ok...everyone else are total loosers and your not. |

Ouch, your killing me. Hey that test is no joke, when you get to see the results(they didnt tell you about that little fiasco right?)
Well, Soul, I really believe its just not my calling to be a Sgt here and passed the Special Agent exam for the state department of justice instead, so I could go into arresting corrupt councilmen, and political figures, you know people who really corrupt justice. So for me,it is a better fit. Now as for talking shit, bring your lip, I got something for it.
My opinions are my opinions, but they are based on the things I see here. Are you here? Nope, And I sure aint about to tell you how to go down to the dock and take care of the sailors! Not my job.
I'm not hard to find just ask,

Looks like you were right. CHP Lt. Fred Miramontes will be the next under sheriff. Is he from Calecia, or did he work in Calecia? |

this sounds like something that needs to be resolved at stark field. Where C.com fixes it's problems. |
