Didn't our current police chief file a federal lawsuit against the city ? Is that why he is not allowed to say anything or do anything about the lobbying efforts.
I don't blame Tabarez for lobbying- he just probably thinks that's the way to do business in Calexico- City Hall for Sale- Buy them tortas and cold beer and you are influential.
Hey Bloodstar- I'm glad you are back. I like your candor and honesty. |

I confirmed that the current Chief is retiring in December 2007. I also heard that there are better candidates then Tabarez. Go to the City and get an appilication. Along with the application you get a disclaimer that tells you that contacting any city official for any position and asking for help in getting hired is an automatic disqualification. So if the city really follows it's policy, Tabarez is out of the race. Q-Vo Putos |

| i was arrested last week here in calexico and the bitch ass officer who arrested me (i won't say his name because officer V. flores might get mad) hit my knee from BEHIND. he hit me because when he took the handcuffs off in the police station i started using my cell phone. he got mad and started saying that i couldn't have any property on me, well then i told him that he shoul've search me before he took the handcuffs off (imagine if he does that shit with a guy who actually has a weapon or a gun). have you ever heard of training videos or awareness. i didn't know i could get hit from BEHIND for using the cell phone. any ways, i tried to file a complaint and they would not give me the form. so i keep going back to the police department to file and they keep giving me the run around and not giving me a complaint form. how fucked up is that. now my good knee is fucking swollen because of this cop |

You should log every time you went to the CPD and get a name a person you talk to. Then log in the entry here in this public forum.

In response to real neos rant, I can understand how upset he is, I am AWARE of the situation. However, as this arrest did occur during non office hours of operation, I was unable to procure the requested complaint form. However, I did relay that after he was released he could get the form at the front office.
Typically a complaint form will be handed out to the individual by the watch commander or on duty Sgt., after trying to find out what the problem is and take any immediate corrective actions. 9 times out of 10, that is how it works,) if the complaint is legit, it will be assigned to an investigator, and an investigation will ensue, to determine, what, if any illegal activity or failure to follow City rules, regs, procedures, blah, blah, blah -find out what happened.
AGAIN, depending on the severity of the infraction, (and unfortunatley the popularity of the officer in question with the command staff) if there was one, the findings have to be related to the reporting party.
discipline runs from a written reprimand to days off w/o pay, to firings(But not here at Calexico) Cax should have fired, wait, wait, I'm not going to get into that.. Just believe me when I tell you that there are Officers I don't even want on duty when I am in the City. period.
Anyways, getting juiced on a public forum is not the way to go about solving this, get the complaint form and go through the steps like the rest of us,...Thanx.

I laugh, I do, that just screams corruption and special influence doesn't it.....Only in Calexico...
New Chief should have these basic three things PRIMARILY:
1. COMMON SENSE
2. SENSE OF COMPASSION FOR HIS FELLOW MAN
3. SENSE OF HUMOR.
Those were taught to me by my Father, who was a second generation law man, and I hold all good cops to those first three things because it makes them human beings dealing with the worst society has to offer on a daily basis, w/o those three things, your done in this profession.
CONTINUING:
4. SHOULD BE LOCAL (BUT NOT INFLUENCED BY CITY OFFICIALS)
5. SHOULD HAVE A MINIMAL OF A B.A.DEGREE
6. SHOULD BE A GRADUATE OF COMMAND COLLEGE
7. SHOULD BE GRADUATE OF THE FBI NATIONAL ACADEMY
MINIMALLY-WE DONT AND WONT HAVE THAT IN CALEXICO, AND UNTIL WE DO, THINGS AREN'T GOING TO CHANGE FOR THE BETTER.
So I would get behind somebody with those qualifications, but right now, dream on Cax, dream on...... |

There are other people interested in the position for chief. They are of course Pompeyo Tabarez, Richie Gomez (former ClX officer), and Naujear. I don't have to pleasure of meeting Pompeyo but people say he is a likable person but he doesn't have the skills to lead the police department. Tabarez might get job but I think it would be a mistake to do so.
It would be better to get someone from out of town to take the position. |
