I picked up a copy of the Imperial Valley Weekly/Calexico Chronicle yesterday at Pernicano's restaurant in El Centro. There's an article on page 14 (April 12 edition) about a planned fund-raiser sock-hop dance benefiting the Calexico Arts comission new arts facility. This looks like a good plan to me....I would attend and maybe even dress up 50's style (Zoot Suit anyone?). The comission's director, Bill hodge is the guy behind the idea....tickets will be on sale soon for only $3 at various Calexico locations....I hope this event FLIES and they make tons of $$$...it's for a good cause that will benefit the people of Calexico...God knows they need a Cultural Arts Center.
Hopefully, the comission will keep us informed of the date when the planning is completed.
