Mexicali has just been awarded the 2009 Serie del Caribe !!! In what was a close race between Mexicali and Hermosillo, the teams president's that voted decided to award it to Mexicali. Now the Aguilas Directives and City officials can start organizing the 2009 Latin America World Series and put the eyes of Latin America on Mexicali for 2 weeks. This is gonna be the biggest event to ever be hosted in Mexicali, yeah even bigger than Pavarrotti.

Pretty sad that a freaking Dia del Taco or a "Supposed" Ikea propaganda sighting post received more attention than something as BIG, so big that even the damn IV Press is putting this on their cover page.

Dude, we know it's huge news, but that's why we're playing it cool...

Plus, it's like 2 years away. Plenty of time to get hyped up and reserve outfield tickets right next to the bastard with the horn.

OK, I feel better now.

This offseason is gonna be the last phase of the remodeling of the stadium. They're gonna add more seats somewhere, make a restaurant in the outfield behind center field, get a new scoreboard and giant screen, and I think put the roof (which I don't think we need, although it would make the stadium louder). The total capacity is supposed to be a little bit over 18,000, but for the inauguration last year, that's what the had (shit load of people standing). So if they put 18,000 seats, when it's sold out it'll probably seat over 20,000 + .

Do the Aguilas automatically qualify for the Serie del Caribe 2009 since they are hosting it?

Do you think they'll have any special (foreign) foods/snacks from the participating countries or will it just be colitas and TKT?

Hi

I came across this web site after a search.
I wonder if someone knows the stadium and can recommend seat location based on what Ticketmaster shows as best available.

My choices are Section V in the right field corner or section 103 in left field. Price is $6000 vs $4800. It appears to offer a lower perspective vs higher view.

Do the quality of the seats vary? I will be going to most/all of the games.

thanks

steve
