Hugo has called up his first squad as the Mexico head coach for the upcoming matches against USA in Phoenix (2/7), Venezuela in San Diego (2/28) and Ecuador in Oakland (3/28).

No Rafa Marquez. No C. Blanco. No Memo Ochoa. No America.

Squad:
Goalkeepers: Oswaldo Sanchez (Santos Laguna), Sergio Bernal (Pumas UNAM), Jose de Jesus Corona (Tecos UAG), Moises Munoz (Morelia)

Defenders:
Diego Martinez (Guadalajara), Israel Castro (Pumas UNAM), Joaquin Beltran (Necaxa), Francisco Rodriguez (Guadalajara), Jonny Magallon (Guadalajara), Joel Huiqui (Cruz Azul), Jaime Lozano (Tigres UANL), Fausto Pinto (Pachuca)

Midfielders:
Alberto Medina (Guadalajara), Juan Esquivel (Toluca), Gerardo Torrado (Cruz Azul), Jaime Correa (Pachuca), Israel Lopez (Cruz Azul), Gonzalo Pineda (Guadalajara), Gerardo Galindo (Necaxa), Luis Perez (Monterrey), Ramon Morales (Guadalajara), Andres Guardado (Atlas)

Forwards:
Jared Borgetti (Cruz Azul), Omar Bravo (Guadalajara), Adolfo Bautista (Guadalajara), Francisco Fonseca (Tigres UANL)

The no Memo did catch me by surprise. Also, no Blanco surprised me too since he lobbied for Hugo, but it seems that America will play some Cup game.

I really like that by the part of Hugo. The last regime stripped the Chivas squad for a seleccion game, and the Chivas ended up playing poorly if not losing in the tournament because of it.

Promote Mexican soccer. Hugo on the right track.

No america players were called up because they are playing in the Copa Libertadores, and Hugo didn't want to screw them over by calling their players. Memo for sure is gonna be in el Tri, El Gringo Castro also, El More should be there too, probably one or two more.

Why Venezuela in San Diego??? Damn, Ecuador would of been a little bettter.

Rumor has it that Nery Castillo (or his dad, which I'm pretty sure) asked the Mexican Federation for some big bucks in order to come and play with El Tri. Fuck'em, if he don't wan't to play with El Tri, they should not pay him, cause he won't play for the love of the shirt, but for the love of the money.

Has Nery ever played in Mexico or has he always been doing the Greek?
