Since about the time I started working out, I've been drinking Myoplex ready-to-drink (RTD) for my post-workout milkshake-type thing for protein and such. I've mainly gone w/ Myoplex Lite due to its price and availability and occasionally would drink Myoplex Original, which offers 43 grams of protein compared to the Lite's 25 grams. They taste good* and are affordable for me, but I've been looking at switching it up with something different.
crazynegro brought up to me Muscle Milk during one our past C.com flag football games, but I've yet to try it. I did a little read up on it and MM claims it increases your body's natural production of creatine, which if so, must be good. Overall, it seems to be comparable to Myoplex Lite, except for the range of additional flavors they offer.
GNC seems to be the only place in the valley that offers Muscle Milk (that I'm aware of) and EAS products (Myoplex, etc.) are available at GNC, Wal-Mart and now even at Costco in a power-based product. GNC is too pricey for me, even with the Gold Club discount of 20%, so I stick with Wal-Mart as my supplier and will look into Costco as well.
Is anyone using these products or another they'd recommend?
* I like the Dark Chocoloate and Mocha flavored Myoplex Original RTDs, but they are expensive. |

Why, do you recommend the Banana & Cream? |

I picked up a 6 lb. bag of EAS Premium Protein (chocolate) at Costco for about $26. Each serving (2 scoops) has 27 grams of protein (casein, soy and whey) and only 150 calories and 3 carbs (2g sugar). What surprised me though was the (what appears to be) high dosage of cholesterol at 80mg.
The EAS Myoplex Lite RTDs have 0mg of cholesterol.
Each serving of the EAS PP comes out to cost about $0.35 or so, while the Myoplex Lite is more like $1.75. Big price difference, especially with me drinking about two a day.
Should I be worried about the cholesterol? |

I couldn't find any product info on EAS.com.
I read on another site that EAS was bought off by Pfizer, so with it now being under the umbrella of a mega-corporation product quality may not be the same anymore. That's just my thought.
Plus EAS PP only seems to be exclusively available through Costco. What's up with that?
Where's Americano when you need him? |

Verbal, where do you buy the ON whey protein 10 lbs bag? I'm seeing it for $75-80 a bag (155 servings). That's about .51 cents per serving size.
Looking at switching it up in the next couple months as Costco raised the price on EAS Premium Protein from $27 to $30. This now makes each serving .40 cents instead of .36 cents. That's +.04 cents extra! I'm now over budget!
I'm not cheap, I'm frugal. |
