I went back to Calexico for the holidays. Besides spending some family time there was nothing interesting in Calexico.

I know why people live in Calexico, because it's comfortable and safe, quiet, and close to Mexico..

but it's like waiting for death because there is nothing much going on. I encourage young people to go out of that shit hole (my post would generate a lot of anger because all the calexicans have the best reasons to live in Calexico).

I am not here to argue. All i have to say is, if you are young, get out of Calexico and see the world outside of MTV. otherwise keep giving urself excuses why Calecia is the bad ass shit. Rolling Eyes

Sounds like you're shitfaced.

What the hell do you want here, man? Magic Mountain, an IMAX theater, the Las Vegas Strip?

The Imperial Valley has less than 200K citizens. Do you expect it to have the amenities of a metro like SD, LA, SF or NY?

Yeah, let the youngens take off and experience the "world outside of MTV" and become ultra-cultured like yourself.

While I don't post often here, I do read thing pretty often and when an occasion such as this arrise, I can't help myself but respond. First let me start by saying that I don't live in Calexico at this point in my life, but my family does and while I don't live in Calexico, it is and will always be my home. I have lived in San Diego for a couple of years and as great and beautiful as it is, it is still not home, Calexico IS!!!

These big city provide us with many attractions and things to do, but they fail to provide us with the warmth that we get back at home in Calexico, even during the winter time. Each and every chance that I have to return to Calexico and visit my family and hang out there I do it, because it is home.

Calexico doesn't need anything like Magic Mountain nor a Disneyland, rather SD, LA and NY need something that Calexico has, which is the sense of being at home, where you walk into the store and people know you and you feel welcome.

I think the best way to put it comes from Disney movie "The Lion King", 'Remember who you are.." And I am from Calecia.......

I must agree with Tiburon about “experiencing the world outside of MTV”. I think that it should be a requirement for kids to leave the valley for college and then come back. The problem is that most kids do not come back.

The valley has always been a place where kids don’t have a lot to do… Though there is a lot more to do right now that there has ever been. Not that there are a lot of activities to do, but most kids manage. Calexico being a Shithole, yes that is true in some respects… but don’t judge a town just by the two days that you spent there… Your credibility goes down the drain when assuming things about Calexico and Calexican’s.

No wonder the kids graduate from Calexico High School and go to IVC. Mentality needs to change. When I mean go outside, means--let them experience the wolrd outside of Calexico. Whehter they stay or come back is their choice.

Senor licenciado, I am not a pobre vato. I am just stating a different opinion (and generating conversation in this site Confused ). You don't have to agree with me. Don't get personal. It makes u look weak and a hater.
