Fellow friend and Calexican, Daniel "Danny" Duran died over the weekend as he and a couple other U.S. Forest Service firefighters were involved in a car accident on Saturday. The driver of the car reportedly missed a dark curve and went onto the embankment striking an oak tree near Julian. Both Danny and the driver were pronounced dead at the scene, while another was injured.
Danny was 29 and will be greatly missed. R.I.P.

There will be a viewing at Hems Brothers Mortuary in Calexico from 6p - 9p on Sunday, November 12th.
A mass held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church at 1000 Monday Morning, November 13th. After which the funeral procession will be to Mountain View Memorial. |
