I think once I went like 3 years without picking up a book, as a matter of fact, I think the only thing I read during those three years was a pamphlet. Since then, I still haven't been reading much.
But just out of curiosity, what was the last book you guys read, and when was it? |

The Great Gatsby, by F. Scott Fitzgerald, read it this week.
It was actually pretty good. I'd heard a lot about it, and I was thinking it was gonna suck because it had been hyped up so much, but I really enjoyed it.
It's mainly about this guy named Jay Gatsby who seems to have the world in the palm of his hand. He's envied by all because of his enormous wealth and power. He only has one regret in his life, and if you wanna know what it is, you gotta read it.
I really recommend it to anyone who hasn't read it. |

That's great. Now you can be one of those assholes who criticizes the movie at the theater and keeps on saying how the book is SO MUCH better.
STFU and enjoy the show. |

The last book I read was titled Twelve by Nick McDonell. Basically it is about these white rich kids in New York and how they are destroying themselves. It is a good quick read (256 pages, big type) by a young bright author.
The book I read before that was The Count of Monte Cristo which was equally good though very long.
Elchrist, you obviously don't read enough. Don't you know the book is ALWAYS better than the movie. So why don't you STFU and read your cereal box. |

I read a lot you mofo. I mainly like reading technical books and I know that the book is USUALLY better than the movie.
You obviously didn't comprehend my post. I'm referring to assholes who talk throughout the movie, while others are present, and don't let anyone enjoy it. I pay money to see movies, so I expect to not deal with anyone's fuckin' comments.
Did I strike a nerve? Are you one of these assholes? |

| I just finished a book called Lamb: The Gospel according to Biff, Christ's Childhood pal. It was written by christopher moore. It is a really funny book. It talks about the life of Jesus during the time that the bible leaves out. It's really funny, a quick read, and you can really piss off some christians just by mentioning the title. |

Right now I'm reading The Sport of the Gods by Paul Laurence Dunbar. It's the first (and best) novel about life in the ghetto. I am amazed by how little these people have changed their ways.
The best book about living a shitty life has to be The Jungle by Upton Sinclair.
Sausage anyone? |

| i'm reading this one book called go ask alice, it's supposed to be the diary of a drug user.... but it was written like in the 40's or 50's, so i'm not sure if it's a real diary or just something that someone came up with to scare children back then to not do drugs.... any advice would be appreciated |

i remember i read the book when i was in high school. it was pretty weird. the book was actually a diary that this chick kept. her mother found it after alice died, and she felt compelled to make it into a book to help other teens. |
