Why do people wanna live in Calexico?

I am curious why people stay in Calexico for the rest of their lives. Some quick answers that pop up in my mind

1) pretty tranquil
2)grew up there don't wanna leave
3) no hablo ingles
4) i don't wanna live in chicali
5) if i move out, i can't afford shit
6) C13 pa' vida (loser pa' vida)
7) but i thought hollywood and nyc only exist inside the tv box
8) it's not that bad, we got cachanilla y miao's miao's on the other side

and the worse

9) i want my kids to experience the wonderful calexco childhood i had

go ahead take this lightly or be serious about it.

Other reason could be "oh, I can't make it anywere else so Calexico is the only place in the world were I can achieve success"

Wonder why we have the leadership we have?

Seriously, the only place were our corrupted political leaders can prostitute our government is in Calexico. In no other city could they do what they do here in Calexico!

That why they live in calexico all their lives. They have all the tools to work somewhere else but they choose to live here.

Also, Calexico is very addictive that sometimes you forget there is a world outside this city.

That's what I think.

I think it's for the same reason that so many people move here.

It's a pretty tranquil place to live. I think it's pretty well centralized to a lot of places you could visit.

I've never understood the "Calexico sucks, and I need to move to a bigger city so that I can better myself" mentality.

Some people need to wake up to reality, if you're a loser here, you're going to be a loser anywhere you go.

I was raised here, currently live here, and don't plan on moving anywhere else. If I end up somewhere else, it won't be because I needed to so that I could "succeed."

I feel I've done enough with my life to where I don't need a zip code to prove I've accomplished anything.

In reality, I can only really think of one reason you wouldn't want to live in Calexico: It's too damn hot!

Yes, Calexico can be the place were you can build a life and be successful in whatever you want to be. Calexico is fertile land for you to put you ideas that benefit the community if you do desire to do so. The only problem is that Calexico is very limited and staying here will be like missing some of the most amaizing things life can offer you. People that live in Calexico all their lives and stay here don't know what are they missing. People should go out there, swim the oceans, climb mountains, and do enjoy every minute of that.

Yes, Calexico is a great city and I love this town because its calm and the people are great. There is nothing wrong about living here all your life because most of the people that have decided to stay here is because of their families and their roots. That is what makes Calexico so unique in the Imperial Valley. Most of the family's that you meet here have great stories about how was Calexico in the past and how many things came to be in this city.

What I think what happens here is that the people that have lived here all their lives are the people that were form the 60's 50's generation were they decided to stay here and had children and their decendents still live here. Nowadays, you have high school kids wanting to leave the city because a) hate Calexico and b)they can't find the opportunities they want here in the valley.

Some of them come back and that's ok because they apply their education and benefit them and the community as a whole.

I love Calexico but I also don't like many things because there a bunch of snakes here. Some people don't move from Calexico because they can't be succesful anywhere else and some live here because they know that they can make a difference in the community.
