| I read Pinky Alvarado's editorial in the October 30 issue of the IV press. He talked about a "united school board" and improving test scores in his tenure. It all most looked like a mid-term evaluation. I like Pinky, and I think he is true to his word, but I think that our school board does too much micromanagement. They do not make their presence felt in our schools (this includes David Alvarez). And they seem to lack common sense. Don't you find yourselves asking "why did they do that? It doesn't make sense." My votes will be Castillo, Romo, and Cordero! It makes sense! |

There's an election candidate debate at SDSU-IV Calexico campus on Thursday evening. This will include the CUSD candidates, County Supervisor District 1 and others.
I'm not certain on the start time, but I'm leaning towards saying 6 PM. |

Michael Castillo, Richard Cordero and somebody else.
Interesting enough, these candidates were unscripted and delivered a much and, most importantly, believable message. |

The first four top getters ran on changing the administration- no more staying the course with Alvarez. Incumbent Huerta who was a rubber stamp supporter of Alvarez finished in fifth place. The people have spoken. Congratulations and let's make sure that Calecia.com hold them all accountable. Cordero and Castillo seem like a breath of fresh air. Two educated guys who will work hard and read all the agendas and back up. Wow, that is different already. I was disappointed with Mr. Alvarado, the other board member.
Who else on the board will support Alvaraz now that Huerta and Rodriguez will be gone? |
