| One good thing out of this is maybe we can attract and retain a more qualified police force. From what I hear Cax PD officers will be making more than ECPD. |

| I think it's great that the City Council took a proactive look at the wages Calecia workers were getting compared to other cities. Looks like the differences weren't just a couple of bucks here and there. Sometime doing right, is the right thing to do. But does anyone know how the benefits are? Health, dental, vision, etc.? Good benefits help to keep employees longer, too. |

They are trying to retire as many people as they can. Also the benefits though being better than most other employments have gone down the drain particularly with benefits across the border.
I think the raise was given squarely at CLXPD because I haven’t heard anything from my folks... Or maybe they just don’t want to tell me... |

I didn't realize the city employee wages in Calexico were so low compared to the rest of the valley. It wasn't like they were being paid Chicali pay though, but they should always be comparable to the rest of the Imperial County cities.
Maybe now we'll get more applicants for open positions and not run the risk of hiring potentially under-qualified personnel. No offense to the existing city employees, but keeping your job just got a little tougher. |

Minimum wage with commission (50% on tickets, 100% on bribes).

I'm sure they all speak English. Chances are there are some who don't speak Spanish, but will understand "placa," "cochi," "puto," and so on. |

| Here's a dumb question: Where's the extra money for the raise coming from? Are there going to be cuts made from other departments? Anyone have any ideas or insights? |
