There's a little over 2 weeks left before the county wide elections for the Imperial County District 1 Supervisor and the two candidates are incumbent Victor Carrillo and Alex Perrone.

Simply put, what are your thoughts on why one should vote for a specific candidate?

Let's see...should we vote for the candidate who has done nothing of visible accomplishment for the city of Calexico, or the other candidate who has done nothing of visible accomplishment for the city of Calexico? Confused

Perrone wears a hip leather jacket. He's got my vote.

Seriously though, I think Perrone has probably been more proactive for the city. I remember hearing about him doing things (can't remember what those things were).

Carrillo on the other hand, I know I see him at every possible PR event, but not really sure if he's ever actually done anything positive.

No I agree with bemisnorris (which according to him i rarely do) neither Mr. Perrone or Mr. Carillo have done anything for the city that might qualify them for politician of the year... then again its imperial valley Smile

If Carrillo has done nothing, then I'd give Perrone a chance (to do nothing). At least it's a change! Besides, Carrillo shows up to all the prepie events like he's some kinda of "high society." Perrone seems more like a working class kinda guy. Don't know either one of them, though. Guess I'd go with Perrone, just for the change.

Yeah, I gots no clue as to who vote for. Change or same, same?

Is there some type of debate happening soon or maybe one that passed (recorded) we can view? I need to know more about them before I cast my vote.

Maybe we can have them debate online in their very own thread on Calecia.com? Perrone has a MySpace account so he would be technically capable. Don't know about Carrillo's knowledge of the int'net.

I'm sure it was a family biz, but I think his brother runs it now.

carilllo is pretty charismatic, read about him in the newspaper the other day about the long lines in the border event, and apparently, a lot of teachers in high school support him...
