carilllo is pretty charismatic, read about him in the newspaper the other day about the long lines in the border event, and apparently, a lot of teachers in high school support him...

Yeah, spic-ole is right. He seems to be everywhere whether it's for a photo op or to really help in creating an impact.

He's also does the Calexico Bulldogs commentating, along with John Moreno. Is Carrillo an ex-teacher?

perrone, i heard he got into some controversial financial situation, few years ago, anybody know what i am talking about

You might be referring to the U.S. Data Source $400,000 loan provided by the City of Calexico. It was speculated that the money was used to open up Dudley's, which I'm not sure if any proof was every brought up.

He was also the mayor of Calexico recently. He appeared on The O'Reilly Factor a while back defending the border and immigrants who come to work here. Would anyone happen to have a recording of that?

Carrillo used to teach at Vincent Memorial High School. This summer I ran into a highly credible source who told me that he would be teaching at Calexico High this year. I don't know whether he is now or not.

He was a teacher at Vincent Memorial.
From student sources they said Carillo taught Civics. They also said he would step out o fthe classroom to take phone calls. Seems he was working for the City/County during the mornings and only taught part-time at CHS.

Never met Perrone, but I would vote for Carillo. The man has paid his dues. He is genuinely interested in Calexico and sounds like he knows what he is talking about. A great Calexico historian.

Maybe we should bring him into Calecia.com and have him design "Calecia... A history!"

Still a toss-up between the two, but leaning a little towards Perrone due to his charisma and as spic-ole alerted, the jacket.

Give me 20 minutes prep time, and I can sound like I know what I'm talking about too.

Carrillo has always been all about the talk. Not about actually doing anything.

Seriously, can anyone think of anything he's actually done? And remember not to include things he's just shown up at, or added his name to (he seems to do that a lot.)

I'd have to go with Perrone.
