He might have been joking or he might have been serious, but one line that Gene Ford uttered Monday morning spoke volumes.
“If I would’ve known I was going to fill out this much paper work, I wouldn’t have blazed before I came here,” the 52-year-old Niland resident said.
His scheduled 9 a.m. appointment Monday at the Imperial County Public Health Department was historic as Ford became the first Imperial Valley resident to apply for a medicinal marijuana card in the county.
When the medicinal marijuana card program started rolling Monday, it was only Ford in line to take advantage.
