We're told the City of Calexico has a rich history. From its inception, to the Prohibition, to FedMart, and to its present and its future. We're told of it, but no one seems to document it. And if it is, it seems a little hard for the average citizen to find this history.
So back in June 2006, Calecia.com started up Calexicon, the authoritative source for all things Calexico.
Some information about Calexico was collected and added, but it soon became apparent this project would need the help of EVERYONE in Calexico. And so now we ask for its help.

Please note that Calexicon is in "beta" (or beto) format and thus requires a lot more configuration work on our part, but it is indeed ready for people to start adding and/or editing content, which can be done with or without an account.

OK, to summarize the "mumbo-jumbo" up above, Calexicon is basically an encyclopedia about Calexico. Think Wikipedia, but just about Calexico, with everything from city government to Lalo's music store on 2nd St.
Oh, and why Calexicon?
Calexico is a merging of two words: California and Mexico. Now Calexicon is the merging of those words and Lexicon.
Clever, ain't it? |

Try checking the Library of Congress website. They have a search engine I've used before.
